Home feels like…

That's the sentence I'm asking people to finish, and I'd love your help. Here's the first two minutes of answers (no sound).

That's just five responses, so each new one makes the work a little longer. Let's see how much time we can clock up together.

To add yours:

  1. Finish this sentence: Home feels like…

  2. Think of home and share a photo (new, old, cropped, it doesn't matter).

Please don't overthink it! The first words that pop into your head are often the best, and there could be gold in the photos on your phone.

By sending them, you're giving your blessing for me to use both in a video work, wherever it finds a home.

For me, home lives in memory. That's why your words and photo will take the shape of an old box TV.

Email me at shaun@shaunweston.art or use the form below.

Already taken part? You're welcome to share another, or pass this page on.

Thanks,
Shaun

Where could this video work find a home?

An idea I keep returning to is projecting it onto a waiting room wall. The short responses suit a space where people come and go, and a waiting room is somewhere people are often away from home and thinking about it. The work could grow as people connected to the place respond. In a hospital that might be staff, patients and visitors.

I see the projection as a window, with curtains made from chenille bedspreads hung either side and some of my chenille paintings on a nearby wall.

If you know a space where this could live, I’d love to hear from you.
