Blush of Bone

$450.00

Blush of Bones is an original work on paper combining ink, watercolour and acrylic, depicting a skull washed in pink tones deepened by red and violet against a divided field of colour.

Dark ink pools and drips fall from the eye socket and mouth, acting as subtle markers of time and holding the image in transition rather than stillness.

Warmth of colour introduces an unexpected lightness, allowing humour and vulnerability to surface. The skull carries the weight of memento mori, yet resists finality.

Ink, watercolour and acrylic on cotton rag paper
Paper size: 21 × 15 cm
Framed size: 33 × 24 × 4 cm
Oak frame, hand finished in Black Japan
Sold framed

(Since its exhibition in Hello, Goodbye, the oak frame has been refinished.)
