Chrysanthemum Veil

$1,000.00

Chrysanthemum Veil is an original ink and watercolour drawing on paper, depicting chrysanthemums arranged in a skull-shaped vase, set against vintage wallpaper and presented in an ornate gold frame.

Blue blooms extend from the vase through a mix of controlled fine lines and thicker marks allowed to drip and pool. The work draws on a familiar process of control and release, reflecting on transience and growth.

The cool palette, dictated by the choice of wallpaper, stands in contrast to the warmer tones of its partner work, Chrysanthemum Fire, made at the same time.

Ink and watercolour on hot press paper
Timber panel, vintage wallpaper, ornate frame
